Plumbing Repair – A Warning Bathrooms, General Plumbing, Kitchens, Pumps, Water Treatment
The work that was promised
We were asked to look at finishing a job for a customer who had a “handyman/contractor” build a bathroom. This “contractor” said he could do the electrical….. the structural….. the plumbing….unfortunately, the “contractor” left them high and dry taking their money and skipping town… this is where we come in…
So we started looking at the job to see what needed to be completed and found that this “jack of all trades master of none” had compromised the structure of the home by cutting the joists….. now not only does the plumbing all have to be redone….. but the joists have to be replaced….
So what should have been an easy finish up job has become a gut and redo job… and if this is what I found I can just imagine what the electrician would have found……
How to protect yourself against bad plumbing and contracted work
Just because your contractor says “basements, kitchens, bathrooms” on the truck does not mean they can do the plumbing or electrical. It is against the law for anyone to work in the protected trades without a licence. Unfortunately, most people don’t ask the right questions until it’s too late and the money is gone… please protect yourself against homedepotitis and fly by nighters….
